I love this so much! Özlem is one of the early voices of bringing Turkish recipes to an English-speaking audience. I've been referencing her recipes for a while. I found her blog 8-9 years ago, when I started dating my now-husband, who is Turkish. Before I could read or understand Turkish (recipes don't translate too well haha), it was just Özlem and a few others who could really teach me. These two recipes are lovely classics and approachable for the home cook. I'm excited for her new book to be shared with the world, as these are the types of recipes I wish people knew more about and that I try to share myself. Turkish food is so wonderful, but can feel a little hard to approach when you live outside of Türkiye.
A few tips for anyone reading - Trader Joe's was carrying frozen artichoke hearts last year. Not sure if they still are, but they work well here. Also, in the US, Anaheim peppers, Cubanelle peppers, or Italian frying peppers are actually a closer substitute for sivri biber than green bell peppers. :)
I can’t wait to listen to this one, and I think I need this book!! I know so little about Turkish food, but I’m so drawn to the dishes and flavors.
I'm grateful for the permission to cheat with manti - with shells; who knew?!
I have friends traveling to Turkey next week - sending their way!
Smart cheat!

This recipe is so clever! And also let’s take a moment for this lovely illustrated cover and these photos!!
the combo is SO GOOD
I have been craving manti for years—can’t wait to try this “cheat” version
Same! I have a vegetarian cookbook that she’s written that’s really good. This one seems great!
It's SO inspiring, definitely one of my faves of the season.
I could eat either of those recipes right now, and it's breakfast time. Looking forward to the book!
