An interview with Jenn Lueke, who offers advice on creating a meal-planning routine, plus tips for saving money at the grocery store, and her easy recipe for Buffalo Chickpea Stuffed Sweet Potatoes.
I shared a review on apple podcasts that I loved the conversation on meal planning meals that have similar ingredients to make meal prepping easier and to importantly cut back on food waste - so important ! ♥️
There is middle ground. I keep my pantry stocked with items I use regularly, but I only buy the perishables that I will eat over the next few days. (My mum was European, and that is how she shopped, so I follow her example.) A two or three day meal plan works fine for me.
The Friday inventory tip is super practical. I've noticed most people (myself included) skip this step and end up buying duplicates at the store. Took inventory last week before planning and realized I had like 6 cans of tomatoes I completley forgot about. Cutting down grocery trips to once a week really does make a noticable budget difference, especially when I'm not tempted by all those impulse items near checkout.
Love this recipe idea - sweet potatoes and chickpeas. DEF a me kind of dinner. Also, it continues to amaze me that ultimately it takes more effort to not be organized. But as I get older, it really is the truth. This type of meal planning and organizing definitely proves it.
Maggie I absolutely loved chatting with you for this episode and even exchanging recipe faves with you!!! Thank you for sharing DTAD and asking such thoughtful questions 💗 I hope your readers get inspired to plan and prep in the new year!!
